The Samsung KS8500 4K TV is worth the price tag, and our consumer testers and experts loved its curved design and crystal-clear picture quality. The curved screen allows you to get a great viewing experience from any angle in the room, and minimizes the effects of glare from windows and lights. The Lab found it extremely easy to assemble; the legs snap into place without any screws. The menu pops up as a bar at the bottom of the screen, so you can keep watching while you select your next app, change the input or adjust settings. The remote is very minimalistic and only has a few buttons, which some consumer testers found difficult to understand — but it does fit comfortably in your hand and has an ergonomic curved design.
The KS8500 aced our picture quality tests, and the screen looks crystal clear even with dark or fast-moving images. Its auto-brightness feature sets the brightness based on the lighting in the room, so if it's a dark basement, for example, it'll dim the screen to save energy and protect your eyes. If you have a lot of devices that connect to your TV, there's a One Connect system box so you can connect your DVD player, gaming console and Roku through one cable that goes to your TV.
We only tested the 55" model.

Our engineers in the Consumer Electronics and Engineering Lab evaluated the latest 4K TVs for ease of use and performance. Consumer testers tried the remote and gave feedback about how easy it is to navigate and use the TV. We assessed picture quality by watching three clips for three different types of movies: one CGI, one animated and one live-action.
